Idle has actually created a mattress with an unique design.Idle Hybrid Cost
Unlike other dual-sided bed-in-the-box mattresses which have a different firmness on each side, Idle developed their mattresses with the SAME firmness on both sides.
This was a model that used to be common for lots of standard innerspring mattresses until the expenses got too expensive to produce them. Then mattress brands stopped offering the ones you could turn and went with the more affordable to manufacture one-sided variations.
Thanks to Idle Sleep, the 2-sided flippable mattress is back.
This special style enables you to flip the Idle over occasionally to lengthen the life of the mattress and avoid any sagging or indentations from happening. This is particularly useful when it comes to couples where one partner is bigger than the other.

Idle Hybrid Mattress SummaryIdle Hybrid Cost
The company, Idle Sleep, was founded in 2017 and is based in Colorado Springs, CO. All of the mattresses are handcrafted to order in the USA.
Idle has a really generous sleep trial period of 18 months which is about 540 days. If at anytime within the 18 month trial you decide Idle is not the right mattress for you, they will coordinate a return with you or donation and refund 100% of your purchase cost. Idle’s trial is the longest in the market– about 540 nights!
How is the Idle Hybrid Constructed?
Idle has two designs that are made with Certipur certified foams which indicates that they contain no PBDE’s, TDCPP or ozone depleters.
They are both 14″ tall, 2-sided and feature handgrips for ease in flipping over the mattresses.
They are also excellent for all sleepers: side, stomach, back and combination sleepers (individuals that turn between positions during the night.)
People with back pain may find that a hybrid mattress gives them some relief from pain because the coils will support your spine while the latex or foam will give cushioning support for pressure points.
Both are constructed of materials that are created to really help you sleep cool and get a good nights rest.
1 ″ Quilted Foam Cover— Contouring foam is woven into the upper layer which gives it softness.
1 ″ Response Foam— This layer is designed with aerated foam which supplies cooling and bounce.
2 ″ Cooling Buoyancy Foam— Made without visco elastic chemicals to stay cooler than memory foam and offers far better pressure relief for areas like back and hips.
6 ″ Pocketed Coils— This layer acts as the core support of the mattress with high quality steel pocketed innerspring coils that go all the way to the edge of the mattress.
2 ″ Cooling Buoyancy Foam— described above.
1 ″ Response Foam— explained above.

The Thermocool fabric cover will help keep regulate the temperature, so you will sleep comfortably.
You can order this hybrid with Dunlop or Talalay latex.
Cover— This natural organic cotton cover actually has a 1-inch layer of natural wool woven into it to supply comfort and added softness.
3 ″ Gel Buoyancy Foam— 100% Natural Dunlop Latex or Talalay layers offers cooling and bounce to the mattress in addition to giving it more firmness than regular memory foam. The latex is naturally hypoallergenic and has anti-microbial qualities, too.
6 ″ Pocketed Coils— This layer has high quality steel pocketed innerspring coils that act as the core support of the mattress.
They go all the way to the edge of the mattress for optimal firmness from edge to edge.

The Latex Hybrid is made with 100% natural cotton, wool and natural latex which are fabrics that are known for their cooling qualities.Idle Hybrid Cost
Latex tends to sleep very cool since it is aerated and won’t trap heat the in the same way a standard memory foam mattress does.
The layers are held together with button tufting rather than glue which makes this a truly green mattress.
What is the firmness of the Idle?
The Idle Sleep mattresses come in 2 firmness choices: Medium and Luxury Firm.
You have the option of deciding upon a mattress with 2 Luxury Firm sides, 2 Medium sides or Medium on one side and Luxury Firm on the other side.
The Medium is around a 6.5 out of 10, where 10 is the firmest. The Luxury Firm is around a 9 out of 10.
Larger individuals will find the Luxury Firm more supportive.
This is a measure of how supportive the bed is around its perimeter.
The coils on the Idle Sleep mattresses go right to the edge of the mattresses to offer the very best support whether you are sitting on the edge or sleeping near it.
There is very little motion transfer despite the fact that these mattresses do have some bounce. The separately enclosed coils isolate motion much better than standard inner springs. Compared to other hybrids in the mattress-in-a-box class this one may be a great option if you sleep with a partner or an animal so your sleep won’t be affected by their movement.
- Ideal for all sleeping types
- Mattresses sleep cool
- 2-sided style extends the life of the mattress
- Great for individuals who like the feel of standard innerspring mattresses yet would also want the body contouring feel of memory foam
- More bounce which in turn allows some motion transfer
The Idle mattresses are developed to be used on a range of bases consisting of box springs/foundations, adjustable bases, slats, platform beds and even the rug.
